Finding a Local Corporate Video Production Company: What to Consider

This question comes up a lot from business owners who want to work with someone nearby rather than a company they only ever talk to over email. There are some real advantages to going local, but there are a few things worth thinking through first.

One of the biggest benefits of working with a local company is being able to actually meet in person before you commit to anything. Sitting down face to face, walking through your space, and talking through your goals in the same room tends to lead to a much better final product than a relationship that only exists over a phone call.

I would also look into their reputation within your own community. A local company that's worked with businesses you know, or businesses similar to yours, is easier to vet than a company from out of state. Ask around. Chances are, someone in your network has worked with a local production company before and can tell you honestly how it went.

Logistics matter too, more than people expect. A local company already understands the area, which means less time spent explaining where things are, how parking works, or what permits might be needed for a particular location. That familiarity can save you real time on production day, especially for anything happening outdoors or in a public space.

That being said, local doesn't automatically mean better. Proximity is convenient, but it shouldn't be the only thing you're basing your decision on. I would still recommend looking at their previous work, asking about their experience, and making sure they understand your business, the same way you would with any production company, local or not.

So what should you actually look for? A company that's close enough to build a real relationship with, but experienced enough to earn your business either way. If you're looking for a local production company here in the Dallas area, we here at Richie Media would love the opportunity to meet with you and talk about your next project.
